What's the point of doing the interview then?
Doyle wants to tell people he’s not such a bad guy. Murph wants to get the real story.

Doyle got his platform, but wasn’t that convincing. Murph probably didn’t get the story he wanted, but showed off his journalistic chops.

Tonight kind of takes the wind out the sails of Miller and Condon were saying KJ was a lock to be invited for the Heisman.
Show me where they said that. Last week they both said he wouldn't get invited unless Iowa ran the table. They also itbwould still be tough because he's an RB. They said Boise St rb would be ahead of him. Where did you hear this?

Maybe they didn't say lock but it was certainly inferred.

Were they expecting this guy, who is trying to get back into the football S&C world, to come on an Iowa-centric podcast and sh!t all over Iowa football?

Ross and Travis had a decent segment this morning about the trajectories of the Iowa and Iowa State football departments. Ross went on a solid rant about how both basketball and football have been worn down to the point of apathy for the fan base. Talked about how the excitement and energy level has totally flipped in-state to Iowa State.

That's typical Ross talking vibes and not facts. Iowa sold out their season tickets for the season and will go to a bowl ahead of some other B1G team because of how Hawk fans travel. He's just sad that Iowa isn't the state's darling program any more and all of his previous annoying ass rants are now null and void.

Ross was pretty critical of Kirk today I thought. Some guy called in about how come Iowa can't recruit 4 star QB and Ross said Petras was a 4 star that broke some of Jared Goff's HS records and McNamera was the top QB transfer in the portal at the time, it's not a talent issue but a coaching issue. It doesn't matter what QB they bring in when Kirk won't let them throw the ball because in his offense the QB mostly hands the ball off to the RB on a zone read. Until they overhaul their thinking on how they run their offense which Kirk is not going to do at this stage of his career since he hasn't already they could go out and get a top QB and watch them have similar results because that system doesn't develop QB's they are basically game managers for a run heavy offense.

I still don't understand this statement. Was he REALLY that good? He doesn't throw the ball all that well and has no arm strength. Help me understand why Iowa went after him hard.

He was actually ranked ~ 16th to 18th in the QB class that offseason. The only people saying he was the #1 QB available were hok beat writers and fans.
