I don't think anyone is pretending that the game would have been different with Embiid in there. I think the point that most are trying to make is that they still have more raw talent and Fred's offensive game plan made UofK's (why do they insist on KU, doesn't make sense) defense look silly.

If you don't think that Hoiberg would take the Kansas job if offered then you have lost your mind. Like I said, Manning be be the next coach at Kansas but Hoiberg would take it if offered. Everyone would. There's a reason why we have only had to offer the job to one coach when the position has come open. I cannot remember a single coach ever saying no thanks to the offer.
Holy **** i just fell out of my chair I was laughing so hard. There is not a single fan base that is more delusional then Kansas basketball fans. I try to root for all Big 12 teams but damn you guys make it hard.

Have you talked to an Iowa fan? They think they are amazing in basketball AND football.

You couldn't watch a matchup this year with better star players than Wiggins, injured Embiid still talked about, Ejim, Kane and Niang. Plus Ellis was playing like an all american. I really think Ellis is going to be one of those players who was a support player in college and surprises people with a crazy long and productive NBA career.
Tell me that Perry is older than Kane.

Because KU is Kansas University and UK is University of Kentuck and IU is Indiana University and University of Iowa is UI. Children will be children.

I'm a KU fan with a ISU sock name. I can tell you I wouldn't trade Self for anybody but I'd take Hoiberg in a New York second. Love your team. You guys earned this win a couple times last year. Good luck the rest of the year, I really expect you to be the last conference team standing.

So much fail in this thread. Just comical!

Have to feel for KU though, their best head football coach is now our offensive coordinator, and we just ruined their #1 seed hopes. Fred to KU is as likely as Manning to ISU. Although, if Danny Manning did come coach at ISU it means he would finally get a win in Hilton.

Also, for this being KU's worst defensive team in years, I have to wonder how ISU has been able to put over 90 points on them the past few seasons. This wasn't just a 1 year deal.

No you have lost your mind. Hoiberg basically went into defensive mama-bear mode and started lashing out in his Mayor way when he felt like a couple of rogue ISU fans were giving Matt Thomas, a freshman in college not getting paid, too hard of time for being enough of an impact player. Take a look at how your fans treat your coach and your players AFTER EVERY LOSS. You think any amount of money is going to make Hoiberg want to deal with that, when he could basically go deal with grown men who all get paid handsomely and hang out as buddies every day in the NBA. Come on, twocaoch, FRED HOIBERG IS AN NBA GUY and Lawrence is just a little too much crazy for a guy who likes to be in control.

You sir, have lost your mind.

P.S. any educated ISU fan, including the AD, can tell you with 100% confidence that Kansas would NEVER pay a coach as much money as CFH would require to leave IOWA STATE for KANSAS. It would literally have to be a record-setting contract. Ridiculous.

If ISU was missing their second best player on the team, what would the result of the game have been? Probably different? Kane seemed to have had a bit of an impact on this game, don;'t you think? What would have happened if he wasn't out there while Embiid was?

I don't think it's at all unreasonable to assume that having Embiid, who was HUGE in both match ups with ISU in the regular season, might have affected the outcome of the game in some manner. I am not saying KU would have won, but the game would have played out differently. So IO don't think their post is "laughable".

You play with the guys you have available and ISU was the better team on the floor last night. Crying over "what-ifs" isn't something I choose to do. We have capable bench players. This is just the worst defensive team in the Bill Self era and they had their worst night missing their best defender. Most points allowed in regulation by a Bill Self coached Kansas team EVER. I wish we had an extra scholly open for next year sop we could recruit a PG over the top of Tharpe. I have never seen a guard that sucks as bad as him on defense. Totally clueless.

Yeah, we'd miss Kane but he's not one of TWO lottery picks on our team. We've had a grand total of ONE McD AA in our history, and won the Big 12. When's the last time KU didn't have at least two of them on their roster?

KU's defensive problems are primarily related to going the way of the other blue-blood programs and relying on one-and-done players more. Before Self managed to keep players around for at least three years. That makes a big difference in defense, having guys who have some experience playing it at his level.

13 hours ago He's the coach I want if Bill leaves. They look like they have more fun than our team. Maybe it's because they play less players and all the guys have a green light from anywhere, but it's just complete freedom and a touch of defense. Their defense isn't good, it's kind of like a Peyton manning Colts defense was. They are ok because the offense puts so much pressure on you. It makes you speed up and you make a few ba mistakes along the way. The whole team needed to be better today. I will take the extra day of rest. Thought we should be a two seed whether we won the tourney or not. So nothing for us to improve on seeding wise. I would of like to have won the tourney for confidence without jojo, as we are in a win a game lose a game freefall right now. Lots to practice on when we get home. If that's our defense going forward, then the zone an press need to be rolled out real soon or Bill is one stubborn mothertrucker. Got burned so many ways and times tonight. Jamari and Perry can't guard anybody, so why play man when those guys are out there. At least mix in some zone to give them a break. Would be curious what Perry did on offense minus what he allowed on defense or traylor. It was probably not good enough and will get us beat too many nights. Our guys I think need a good *** whipping physically and mentally to get back on track. Too many of our guys make silly mistakes that should be gone at this point in the season, and our guys should be oozing confidence not be being benched for continually making bad plays. Its a clean slate and one game at a time. We basically have no room for error and either need to shoot great or improve our defense in one week.

13 hours ago via 247Sports Mobile It's criminal how great Hoiberg is at talent evaluations. Morris (PG) is a freshman and makes Frankamp & Mason look like freshman in high school. Hogue a non-rated 3* JUCO. Niang who I despise because he is wasting himself millions being a fat ***, so much potential but apparently can't put a box of pop tarts down.
Goes out pulls Kane from Marshall, nobody heard from and this kid explodes and is an easy 1R pick. Ejim develops into a star. Incredible player development & talent evaluations. Especially with the ceiling ISU should have. I can't even phantom how great Hoiberg could look at a program like ours, North Carolina, Duke, Indiana, Kentucky, etc... he'd be locking down #1 seeds and making Final Fours every other year.

Here nor there
I think trollcoach got exactly what he wanted.
No, I think we got what we wanted. Fred makes this guy so insecure that he is willingly exposing how unknowledgable KU fans are just to feel a a little better.
I love it. The only way that it could be better is if he had even the slightest belief Fred would be interested in KU. It would be like Roy ******** on them x 100.

Kansas seems not play D vs ISU. If Bill Self cannot figure out how to stop ISU who can?

So does that dude think if Georges slimmed down he would all the sudden grow three inches and develop huge hops? He's got all the talent in the world, just not a freak athlete.
