Not exactly sure.
Looked at Hawkeye’s Official FB account. They are now named the BLM Wokeyes lol. Jesus.
Listening to soundoff, all the fans are assigning blame to the players not being disciplined now because the programs changes.

Yeah I heard parts, mad that Doyle was fired and even rationalized that wearing hoodies was an issue involved. “Their culture” was destroyed they think. Thought they still had the same head coach.

If you're going to be a mediocre football team..... why put up with a racist head coach and his son? Why not just be mediocre and have decent human beings on your coaching staff instead?

The lawsuit might be the saving grace for Barta. They didn’t fire Kirk from racism, but the lawsuit gives them another shot when inquiry happens (to void the buyout)

Todd Lickliter syndrome. They know they're a bad hire away from being completely irrelevant and Barta would be hiring
See, that was their dirty secret to success over the years...absolute control by Kirk, brutal strength/conditioning via threats and embarrassment, and uncontrolled coaches. Eliminate this and you are back to an average to below average BIG team. They will go 50-50 against the other average teams (Purdue, Indiana, Minnesota, Northwestern), beat most of the low levels (Maryland, Illinois, Rutgers), and get jobbed by the bigs (Whisky, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State).

Just think...this guy averaged 7-8 wins a year with despotic control. 4-5 win seasons on the horizon for our lovable hoks.

Who do they hire? They would have to go with a mid major because any Power five teams will just get into a bidding war with them

Norvell or I could see them going after Heacock
It will be a tough job no matter who they hire. Yes, you get the BIG $'s, but you still have to recruit and you still have to win games in the BIG. Just having $'s doesn't guarantee results (see Texas, Nebraska, even Florida State). Just think, Iowa will be eliminating the only things that actually generated wins...wins built on pressure, embarrassment, and borderline racism. Without that...

And who knows about the money with the pending lawsuit and Kirk's buyout. I see them trying to pluck a mid major HC or a DC like Heacock or Mike Elko

Testifying
Fickell will get a crack at some big jobs soon.
I'm not sure what his new contract buyout is but Kliemann would have been perfect in IA City.

Iowa
Iowa recruits well because the staff has done a good job of getting kids to the NFL. You take that away, and Iowa isn't anything special. Probably a mix of Indiana and Purdue. The AD is poorly managed by an incompetent clown and the university president is retiring. If Grand Wizard Ferentz and Co get the boot, they're going to have to find a G5 coach and hope for the best.

Iowa
Aka Doyle
The problem is that Iowa kids are still enamored with the program. That's not usually a big deal, but the state has been producing lots of P5 talent in recent years. ISU could do itself a huge favor by getting a conference championship this year.

They haven't got a single recruit since Doyle left

Lol he would never leave Kansas State for Iowa

Explain why he would not, look I hate EIU, but face it, its a better job than KSU, better recruiting, you get to miss playing the best teams in the conference year after year, and EIU has the money to pay him.
Now will he jump, only he knows that, but he also grew up in the area, played and coached at UNI, its not a stretch to think if the job came open that he would want it.

Why is Iowa a better job than Kansas State? Kansas State has been a better program than Iowa the last 30 years and have no competition for in state recruits

You think Iowa is going to have money after they pay the lawsuits and pay off Kirk?
