The name does, sure, but their product on the court is dog crap. I don’t think 1 year of Kansas not winning makes the big 12 weak.

Maybe not weak as far as overall difficulty and amount of decent teams, but if the teams that win it have just ok records or aren't ranked that high it makes it weak in terms of having top tier teams.

I have a hard time believing anyone wins the league with 6 losses. I am betting on someone finishing 13-5 and if I had to put money on it right now I would put it on ISU.

The only thing holding me up is that it’s a 7pm tip on a Wednesday.

I made up a pretense for some meetings in Pittsburgh.

Work from there on Wednesday and Thursday.

Drive there/back as I please around the traffic.

I have done it as driving there and back on the same day, though.

A tip at 7:00 PM is more amenable to that than a later one -- if you leave by 2 or 3 you will make it to the game in plenty of time, and then you can be home by no later than 1.

Baylor will not win. That's easy.

Kansas will win. Patriots will win. Taxes go up.

I still want to play a tom tom drum in the face of little fat KU fans from Overland Park.

Yeah, I can take vacation time, my dog just needs insulin shots every 12 hours and I haven’t found a dog walker that I can pay to come and do it yet.

I’m leaning in the direction of going still. You owe me a drink if I do.

It is fun! The hillbillies have always been super friendly! Wear cardinal!

I admit that having a Big 12 member in Morgantown is ridiculous from a geography perspective, but for personal reasons, having a game or two per school year that Cyclones living on the East Coast from NYC southwards, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and maybe some of the surrounding states can drive to is very nice. I see way more games this way.

You would think long-term that the eastern P5 conferences would swap a few members here and there to even out their numbers and tighten up their geographies, but for now, I am enjoying the fact there is a Big 12 redoubt with cheap tickets in range.

I disagree. I don't mind KU. At least KU at the top gives the league respectability. KSU and Baylor being there fuels the weak conference narrative.
KU winning every year has diminished the Big 12, rightly or wrongly. Especially since they are "average" in the tournament. What the Big 12 needs is another conference winner along with NCAA tournament success. The metrics like the B12 but the perception isn't equal to those metrics.

He worded that wrong. He just meant their offense isn't good enough. UVA has one of the best offenses in the country. KSU, not so much.
The irony here is that K-State hasn't scored well but do have the credentials. Wade, Stokes, McGuirl, all have been working off injuries. We'll see how it plays out over the remainder of the season.

That isn't irony.

And they don't have the credentials as a good offense.

Situational irony is a literary device that you can easily identify in literary works. Simply, it occurs when incongruity appears between expectations of something to happen, and what actually happens instead.
