Was SE Iowa
The same broomball the handles of broom got thicker and had to be outlawed because bones were breaking and not the brooms. Was it too dangerous in the snow and it was moved to ice? Or the other way around? Memory fails…

If it is 93 and sunny on Saturday, those new lots with the new asphalt could get really toasty. We noticed riding RAGBRAI going down on East 14th they had some new asphalt and that was a really warm day and the asphalt just radiated the heat even more.

Interesting that tonight on the Coach's Corner Jamie Pollard said that by the start of the 2024 football season the "band shell" (for lack of a better term) and performance area of CyTown will be complete! That is terrific!

He also said they are nearing agreements for the first major CyTown building with announcements in the not too distant future. And he has been meeting with developers on others.

It is happening, folks!

The Licensed tents with team logos are 9X9. They make them that way because nobody sells a regular/plain 9x9 tent. That way when your tent breaks you can't just slap your canopy on a cheap 9x9, you have to buy a new licensed 9x9 tent.
We bought our 10 x 10 when we hosted a preschool class party for the daughter who is now a freshman at ISU. We will never buy one of those flimsy 9x9 tents that fold up like a cheap umbrella in a stiff wind. It might not have an ISU logo top but we never have to worry about it holding up.

Now since our bus is in the RV lot we got 3 more so we can set up 400 sq. ft. of tailgate fun.

I figured they would shut down the CyTown construction cam on game days, but today one can watch live tailgating. Creepy. Plus, if you watch long enough, there will be wasps.

So it's creepy but you've watched it long enough to see wasps? LOL:)

Will be very interesting to see what next season will look like with all the lots paved. Guessing more spots will be available than this year.

When do we expand pressbox?
When you give your personal $30 million check to Jamie expressly for that press box expansion.

In the mean time the athletic department has more important things to prioritize that the press box. Does it appear small? Yes. It it adequate in that there are few suites in the pressbox? Yes.

The improvements to Hilton are far more important than the press box, in my opinion.

I'll keep bumping this until it happens... in the mean time, I don't have the 30 million dollars no... but JP could start a fund raising event for this specifically... if we all chipped in $100 it would go far... I know West Virginia has basically the same press box but when you look around the college football landscape it just doesn't look "big time" and yes I know it works for now..

It does, but an expanded press tower would only need expanding if there was a huge demand for more suites. The "press" is not growing.

And yes, an end to end suite tower would look sweet.

West Virginia has a much smaller press box.

I would guess that $30M would only be a fraction of what it would cost. This is due to when it does happen, they will have to completely redesign the West Concourse, providing support structure, probably completely redesign the entire suite setup, As well as add club sections.

The only way this becomes somewhat cost effective is to add many more high value seats, in the form of club sections and suites.

All of this, in todays costs for construction, would probably cost in excess of double what the SEZ did.
