Yeah you can tell they are just judging Jack Trice by the faded out seating. Which I do admit it is an eyesore. Some of the concrete could use a good washing as well.
If I recall correctly (it's been a while since I've been to a home game) some of the concrete steps in JTC is chipping away in some places but nothing major. It's a totally different stadium from when they were in the Big 12.

I wonder what the cost would be to remove the bench tops and have them re-anodized. Or just straight up replace them.
Good questions! I also wonder how much any of the general bleacher aesthetics matter anywhere. Lots of college stadiums look fairly drab when empty. The appearance on game days (and the TV presentation) are probably what most non home fans notice.

But for a stadium to create a great experience for fans, it needs to be accessible (easy to get in, out and around), clean, and have the amenities that the fans want. Personally, I would like larger, more comfortable seats......The reality is that most college stadiums do not have many comfy and affordable seats.

Considering labor and transport, cheaper to replace. Multiple extruders/anodizers within a couple hundred miles. Old would have top scrap value.

The benchtops on the sideline ends have been faded for as long as I remember. They look faded, particularly next to the bold colors of the sideline center benchbacks. I think they may have been "faded" when installed.

This is interesting. I’m a numbers guy, so I kept track of the number of cyclone club members by giving level from an earlier post where people posted based on their status. I did not have a number for 2023 Century. I also found the numbers from 2022. I don’t remember if this came from an official post or another CF post. The comparison of number of givers was down about 1000. Captains in 2022 was 485, which explains about half the decline, if it stayed about the same. Every level had a decline except directors, which was up by 9. I also computed the total giving based on the minimum donation level for each category. If I add 500 Century members at $100 each, my total giving for 2023 rounds up to $17.1m. On the other hand, my 2022 total giving was $17.9m. So my numbers show a decline in membership numbers and total giving. I think in the earlier posts there was some discussion about the decline in numbers and people explained it by the surge in memberships because of the high expectations for the football team in 2021. I wonder why the decline in members and increase in giving?

Probably very high end donors opening their wallets wider, including corporate gifts.

My giving process over the years was to add at least 10 percent to my donation each year until I was ready to move to a higher giving level (started at $250). I assume many people follow a plan like that. ANd it worked very nicely to get closer parking as my wife and I got older. Plus, last year, to stay at a current level, many had to donate much more just to "stay the same." I had to drop off due to tuition, my son's club swimming and all the travel that entails, and a daughter's wedding. But, I can foresee us coming back at least at the Gold level once the wedding is in the books.

It's hard to tell watching the Cytown feed. Are the lights already in? I have not driven by there to know ( I live in Minny, so the next time I get there will be the UNI game).

I’m curious if after the lots are finished being paved this month if the plaza and buildings will start going up? 20D84BF2-9484-4DD4-A0F2-400AB00921E5.jpeg

Might be the case. I assume buildings will go up as soon as all infrastructure is in. But I foresee buildings only going up as spots are purchased. I may be wrong, but I doubt any building will be a spec building.
