My entire knowledge of it came from the same CSI episode mentioned here...

The first and only episode I have ever seen of CSI was about a murder in the furry community. Weird stuff.

From what I remember, some people dress up as animals as a fetish, and maybe some just like doing it and watching TV or whatever? I think the "yiffing" comes in when it's sexual. I don't remember, I think someone was in a furry costume in the desert and got shot by a hunter. I think that was the plot of the episode, but they explored the nuances of wearing a bear costume in the bedroom while investigating.
