Understand it has an impact to the pocketbook but, compared to the rest of the college football landscape, these prices are a steal for the product we're putting out. Can't have your cake and eat it too. Product improves, demand goes up, price increases accordingly.

These are good things! Even if the wallet is a little lighter because of it.

Perhaps I missed it, but what is the work being done on those parking lots? Repave/repair?

IIRC, Jamie talked earlier about the need to repave them. $5M seems cheap for all of those lots. Maybe they're just talking new asphalt.

Maybe I misheard but didn't he just say the lots North & West of Hilton/Scheman? I don't think he was talking about the ones between Hilton & Jack Trice. Maybe I'm wrong on that though.

Those lots between Hlton & JTS do badly need to be redone though.

He could do some serious work on them with $5M but it's going to take a LOT more than that for all the A-D lots. I'm guessing they'd reclaim the lots for base and then pave over the top.

You're correct. In this video at least, he was referring only to lots near Hilton and Scheman. Presumably the entertainment district precludes the need to repave a some of the lots between Hilton and Jack Trice since some parking will go away and I would guess the rest is repaved at that time.

But those lots are in awful, awful shape. I knew they were bad, but until this football season when they were mostly empty of cars I didn't realize how bad. It's borderline gravel in spots.

What I remember is his donor speech where he unveiled the entertainment district. He said something about the lots having needed rework since Warren Madden was a kid or something like that. If he discriminated the lots, I didn't pick up on that.

Yeah, those lots are unique given they are used for athletics events and daily use for the commuter lot....so i'd imagine there is a lot of "nose goes" for who pays, lol.

But yeah, maybe at this point they figure leaving it as chunky asphalt makes sense given in a couple years they'll need to do major land moving to start the entertainment district.

6% increase for JTC tickets. Around 20%-25% increase for everyone else... Don't love those optics. I wonder if there is resistant in raising JTC levels to near $2000??

On a dollar per game difference it pretty low for everyone

Having 3 season camping options near campus will be a home run!!! Especially in a post-COVID germ sensitive world.
Dollar-wise, Sukup end zone tickets have highest increase.

As others have stated. You heard correctly. Those lots will look and feel similar to the North of Hilton lot that was recently redone. Adding spaces. Keep in mind that Jamie wants to use Scheman on basketball gameday for a Johnny's 2.0 (for medium to large donars who aren't at the directors level) since they are out of room at the current one, despite insane demand

As others have said, I appreciate the transparency and Pollard being straightforward. COVID aside as all ADs are dealing with it (although Pollard was way more proactive than many), if we want to keep Matt Campbell competitively paid, the money has to come from somewhere. Right now we pay him as the 41st highest paid coach in CFB. I think we all know, to Iowa State, he is a top 10 coach. He might not require top 10 money but we need to at least stay extra competitive so money/assistant pool money is last on the list of why he may leave Iowa State. I think most fans will be fine with paying higher season ticket prices when we field a Top 10 football team.

I can't image we won't have record season ticket buys for next year with a Top 10 team and Iowa coming in. Hell, let's sell the whole damn thing out.

Based on this picture and comment about the proposed $5m parking project in the Scheman/Hilton area, it looks like lots B2 & C2 are expanded and there is more parking in the Fisher Theater area compared to what is currently there. (Its possible I'm underestimating what is there currently, because Google satellite images are from prior to the recent Hilton lots repaving.)

B1 (north of Scheman) would at least double, and F (west of Fisher) appears to triple in size.

Yeah I have heard talk that there is definitely a bit of a "tug-of-war" between the University & Athletic Dept. on who has to pay for those lots to be redone/repaved. And as you said if the Entertainment District is coming relatively soon probably doesn't make sense to fix those lots right now.

I'm just concerned they are going to lose a child one of these days in one of those potholes. :p
