I finally watched The Sandlot for the first time as an adult last week because this board claims it’s the greatest sports movie of all time.

As I remembered, it is not remotely a “sports movie” at all (only for about 90 seconds) but it is still a great movie and I forgot he was in it until he appeared.

Even though I’m a massive sci fi/Star Wars nerd his voice in Field of Dreams is etched in my brain as much as Vader.

About 15 years ago, I was waiting in line at Washington National airport to check my bag. The man in front of me started talking to the counter agent. I couldn’t see the man’s face, but immediately knew it was James Earl Jones. As he turned and walked past me, his face confirmed what I already knew. There’s not too many people who I can identify based solely on their voice, but James Earl Jones is one of them. RIP Mr. Jones.
