I bet the road hole wasn't very fun though.Went golfing this afternoon, and can confirm. Luckily the way the course was set up, it was a crosswind on most holes, but it still made for a tough day.
What kind kinky golf do you play, bro?I bet the road hole wasn't very fun though.
Nice day for the State Track Qualifying meets around the state. I have bad memories of running the 400 and coming around that last curve with my lungs burning and then hitting a stiff wind coming right at me. Made me swear off running the rest of my life.
Then the wind wasn't why they weren't the 3rd best team in the state. It sounds like maybe a really good runner got put elsewhere to qualify for state as an individual or qualify a relay? The wind seemed to settle down a bit to a manageable amount later in the meet but we were at Monticello last night. Those poor poor kids in the 3200 and 4x800. In the boys 4x800 3 of the top 6 teams in the entire state were in the same race. I heard the team who finished third didn't even qualify because their time was 30 seconds off.
Flying anywhere soon?
I went on a ride today. The ride out to my turnaround point was easy. The ride back…another story.Started bike riding the last couple of years. This is ridiculous!

Now if you would have rode with the wind to start you would have had a tailwind both ways. How you’re supposed to do it.That was every ride I went on when I lived in the Texas panhandle. One time, I rode into the wind both ways. Not a joke, stupid dry front went through.
I rode my motorcycle across South Dakota on I90 one time. Between Murdo and Sioux Falls was the most miserable ride ever. The wind was blowing like crazy from the south.I went on a ride today. The ride out to my turnaround point was easy. The ride back…another story.
I understand your theory. But the 3rd best team ran their 4 best guys and they were left out. That team is an 8:07. They ran 8:37 and are staying home. The two other teams were 8:04 and 8:06 all year long. They went 8:35 and 8:36. Those two were the #4 and #5 team in the state. The qualified #22 and #24. All teams knew the wind was going to be a factor so they ran their 4 main guys. What they didnt expect was the wind turning a 2:01 runner into a 2:09. It wasnt just 1 kid having a bad day, but for the wind to hang 7 seconds onto all 12 kids on 3 top 10 teams is crazy. I understand it if was 1 kid on the #16 team, but to go on a 12 on a team full of kids who know how to run the race was sad to see. Then the wind wasn't why they weren't the 3rd best team in the state. Source: ran districts in 2007 in miserable winds like yesterday...ran fastest 3,200 of the season, 2nd fastest 1,600, and fastest and third fastest 800s. I was one of the few good runners over 200 pounds so a bit of an outlier for typical distance runners but the most I'd expect to see in an 800 is a second or two difference.
