The one article I read said that the undercover agent let them know multiple times that it was illegal. Wouldn't that be a red flag to back off on the deal? It just seems like really poor planning (which was good in this case, but still...)

Could be used in guidance systems.

Not quite the same ring to it, eh?

That's what I kept thinking too. The undercover officer sure gave the guy some outs.

I assume, not that you would know from reading this article, that these my be Chinese nationals enrolled as foreign students at ISU? Seems like a distinction of interest in such a case.

Do we use VEISHEA as precedent and ban Chinese students from ISU now?

I wouldn't be surprised given this Universities penchant for knee-jerk reactions.

It would explain why they're always in groups of 10 and can't walk any faster than a crawling baby in cement.

If you want to lose faith in your fellow ISU students/alums just look at the Facebook comments seriously advocating this on the Daily article posting.

When I looked, I got the impression that things are being deleted pretty quickly. There were strong hints to posts that apparently don't exist anymore. Looks like a bright, shining moment.

Doesn't surprise me at all. There were still lots "ban the Chinese" and "we don't need those damn international students anyway" type posts when I looked at it. Should know better than to look at on-line comments by now, I suppose.

Couldn't they just hack the plans for this stuff from the comfort of a Chinese computer lab and than build their own? Stealing or buying illegally just seems so low tech!
