ISU MUST package themselves with KU, KSU, and MU

The group as a whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

I would feel this way more if KU basketball was not part of the equation. KU basketball alone is attractive for many reasons...but the rest of us might be thought of by KU officials as a drag on KU BB as they look to position themselves. Not saying this is the case...but as we have all stated, schools must look out for themselves first.

I still think that KU, Missou and K State would want to be in the Big East over the Mountain West.

ISU has talked to the MWC as well. The one thing we dont have to worry about is JP not doing what is best for ISU.

How many times do we need to remind everyone that neither JP or GG have any choice in this matter?

They can pump up ISU all they want to, but ultimately if we don't get invites to anywhere... we're screwed.

I have no doubt that JP and GG are doing everything possible for ISU, but in the end it probably won't matter... they have NO power.

Correct. You can spin it all you want to, but NOBODY wants ISU... period. We need to accept that fact, and quick. We MUST package ourselves with KU and MU at the very least. KU and MU are attractive for various reasons. Both have the KC market and MU also has St. Louis. KU also has a premier MBB team. We have virtually nothing to add to any conference. We need to deal with that fact.

Relax Debbie Downer.

If you check out the Mizzou tigerboard all the talk is there a four spots left in the Big Ten and four spots in the SEC. Until those are filled there is no way they will even take a phone call from Pollard.

The only mutual benefit to keeping KU, KSU, ISU and Mizzou together in the MWC would be to reduce travel costs on however our side of the divisions would shake out. Otherwise it is every school for themselves.

No reason to be negative?

We've got our Conference falling apart.
We have no one in the state of Iowa talking about the benefits of Iowa state
no reports of any conferences interested in Iowa state
our pets heads are falling off!

KU WILL NOT go to the MWC IMO. Only chance to hold onto KU is BE or rebuilding the BXII.

Everyone that thinks the BE is going to get raided even if the 4 BXII teams went there should consider the MWC losing Utah to the P10 and possibly MO & KU to either the B10 or SEC. What looks like a decent MWC shaping up could go to crap real fast just like the BE.

Bottom line...our position and choices suck.

What really sucks is the 10 current non-BCS MWC schools could suddenly be granted BCS status after they expand while we're left out in the cold (C-USA or worse). You'd think the NCAA would have some say in the matter that current BCS schools couldn't be downgraded in this whole process.

Once again, the NCAA does not give a **** about ISU. They care about MONEY and they will be getting more of it after all is said and done. I am betting the only schools that end up going from "Non-BCS" to "BCS" status are ISU and Baylor.

You think the NCAA is going to make rule changes to help ISU or Baylor?:biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

They are more likely to make rules changes that hurt us!

How do you know this?

because they already have wyoming. are you going to try and tell me that wyoming is a more viable entity than iowa state? please do i would love to hear your argument.

while you are at it, explain how colorado state, air force, and new mexico are more viable then us. add sdsu to the mix as well.

How do you know this?

First off - typing on an iPhone suxxzorz.
Second - ISU is a solid academic and athletic institution with a track record of integrity.
Third - The MWC would only strengthen their profile by adding us, a current BCS member.
Fourth - Yes, all schools are out for themselves, but if KU, Kst & MU head to the MWC, then they can lobby for us if need be.

That's why. So stop freaking n00bs.

Would we bring enough money into the conference that the current members would make even more although they would be splitting revenues by a larger number of schools? If we have KU BB with us...maybe...but on our own? Not so sure of that.

we would arguably bring more money then any of the current schools i listed abovve do. i'm too lazy to look at the numbers, but i would be willing to bet we have a far greater attendence record in all sports then the schools i listed above. far more fans then a lot of the schools listed above

i've seen isu fans all over the country. can't say that about sdsu, wyoming, colo state, or new mexico. byu, utah, boise, tcu, air force yes. the others no way
