Iowa State administrators had a meeting to discuss the concerns coming from graduate students. They had some interesting responses. PDF of the whole meeting is attached

A couple that stuck out to me are:

4b: "9700 people (who live in university residence halls) will be tested at check
in and then quarantined/isolated if positive. Based on collaboration with the
statistics department, the administration expects 55-60 positive cases will
result from this test.
"

9a: "This is the approach Dr. Lawrence shared with the Fall planning committee: In March, when we didn’t know anything, the highest priority was health and safety, so that’s why we shut everything down. For Fall, we’re learning new things, and so we’ve decided to try and go back to some semblance of normal. Health and safety is a priority, but not the priority. We know people will test positive, will get sick, even deathly ill."
