i think just one year of success in football has brought back a whole slew of cyclone fans. I see a lot more cyclone gear around than I used to and yes, the gameday atmosphere is a lot better.

Just look at the enthusiasm for the next few years!

There are probably many out there that want to believe but until they start seeing some reason to believe they won't jump back on the wagon. I knew a guy that went to ISU from 1978 to 1982 and he said they sold out the stadium routinely - it can happen again and I think we have the right coach to do it.

Plenty of Cubs fans in the ISU fanbase as well.... if there is a more sadistic fanbase out there than us, I haven't found it yet.

I know folks who are Cyclone/Viking/Cub. If that's not a tortured individual, I don't know what is.

I think it's nature. For me it was more the fact that I was born to an ISU alum living on the Iowa/Minnesota borderline, so it was just natural. But I think a lot of us are just predisposed to pull for the lovable loser, waiting for the pay out because that one time will be way, way better than what the Duke/Yankee/Laker fans of the world have ever felt.
