Maybe we will go 6-6, lose our last 4 games and get an Alamo bowl bid if we promise to spend a lot of money at the San Antonio bars. We play Wisky, lose by 14, but who cares cuz we went to a good bowl game without deserving it.

I think we'll pick up 6 or 7 wins. Unlike the basketball program, we didn't lose 75% (roughly) of our players due to a coaching change. I know the O-line will be weak, but we've still got some good players. Just because the line will be new doesn't mean they will be bad, just like having a senior-laden like doesn't mean they will be good. I also have to consider the fact that we have Bret Meyer, and one of the best receivers in the conference, along with a handful of talented receivers who showed their potential late last season. Just like in any sport, coaching can make all the difference.

I think having no expectations for year 1 of the Chizik era is the best thing right now. He has not coached a single game as the head coach at ISU and we already have people making him out as a savior practically. Realistically it's going to take more patience than the b-ball team and we've been spoiled by that early success so far that we think the same is going to happen in football. I honestly don't think we are going to see what everyone is hoping for until probably year 3 of Chizik. It takes time and hard work to get your own recruits and system in place. Especially at a place like ISU where traditionally it has been hard to recruit players to come to.

Trav................you hit the nail on the head. I remember when we got all fired up about Cotton coming in and could wait for the OL to be dominant. It never happened. Lets give Chiz a few years shall we. If we get 4 wins I'll be happy.
