Odd, odd proposal.
I see that Iowa would be at a round $2.5 million, and we would be sending less, but what odd #s.

From Iowa state university of science and technology as 25 follows: 26 a. For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2017, and ending 27 June 30, 2018, the sum of one million eight hundred thousand 28 dollars. 29 b. For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2018, and ending 30 June 30, 2019, the sum of one million eight hundred thousand 31 dollars. 32 c. For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2019, and ending 33 June 30, 2020, the sum of one million eight hundred thousand 34 dollars.

I like how the "Explanation" just basically says Iowa and ISU give money to UNI. The end.

Chirs Andringa linked the bill and is not a State Senator. The State Senator that introduced the bill is David Johnson from Ocheyedan. He also happens to be RB for the Arizona Cardinals but maintains his Ocheyedan residence.

Actually no. We need to set a precedent here. When the Big12 dissolves we could get funded by Iowa. If you listen to Iowa fans, the BigTen will make enough that they could fund all three schools at their current level. It's a win win for ISU. We could move to the MAC and dominate while still getting high funding.

Last year's version of this bill didn't even make it out of the subcommittee. No real reason to fret over this one, either. But it does show the type of "WTF" bills that get introduced all the time.

What hasn't been discussed is fact that Panther Hawks asking us for money is absolutely f ing insulting. 99% of them all have season tickets every fall in Iowa city and there big bro won't help there sorry ass'ss out. That's the last thing we need to waste our Goddamned money on UNI's athletics. If they want more money, get the posers that go to Iowa city on Saturdays to come to f ing cedar falls. This is just propaganda. Some posturing by a legislator so he can nab some more votes.

Also, don't funding proposals have to come from the Regents? Why do the Regents even propose a budget if the legislature can introduce line items, particularly strange ones like this.
