Not true at all. Fresno CA has a pop the size of Des Moines and they're not on an interstate.
Fresno, city proper, is actually much larger than Des Moines: 530,000 vs 215,000. CSA is larger, too: 1,300,000 vs. 800,000. They're on California state highway 99, which is like Hwy 20 here (divided highway, but not exclusively with interchanges).

Iowa also has the most transformed landscape in the nation. Farms look natural but are not.
Yeah, my environmental science professor said that Iowa is one of the most transformed places in the world. Iowa used to be mostly grassland praries but those are hard to find now-a-days.

Carter Lake should not be classified as Iowa. I have no interesting facts about the town, its just dumb it exists.

Cedar is not in Cedar County.
Fremont is not in Fremont County.
Jefferson is not in Jefferson County.
