My Ankeny Hawks, who have started the season 0-2, just beat #1 ranked Dowling.

Ankeny High School started last season 1-2 as well and ended up playing in the state championship. They just played like they could get there again!

The best thing the eastern Iowa 5A schools have done is start playing the Des Moines suburb schools during the regular season. They've pretty much gotten slaughtered but it's the only way they'll be able to actually compete in the playoffs and title game, get used to the level of play out here. The talent and coaching has just been way better in central Iowa but if they keep playing they'll eventually catch up. Good for Prairie.

Should be a pretty good game Thursday night against Waterloo West who's also 3-0 for the first time in several years. West is looking like they might actually finish with a winning record for the first time in forever.
