Mark Stoops would be perfect at Iowa
Iowa’s next HC is Brian unless things go bad with the lawsuit. Why do you think they failed to release the personal account of his from the investigation?

What he’s done at Kentucky has been phenomenal.
All his close neighbors (TN, Vandy, even ACC Louisville) have been down and he’s still a mediocre recruiter and coach. He’s not any better than Will Muschamp and he just got **** canned.

Whenever Kirk is done, I don't think Iowa will hire a "name" coach. I think they'll hire someone that is under the radar nationally but has a chance to be there for the long haul. That's worked well for them and I'm not sure why they would deviate from that plan. I think any Stoops would not be a great move for Iowa. I get the ties to the program, but other than that it doesn't seem like a fit. Who knows though. I do agree with twins, I believe Brian WAS the heir to the throne before everything hit the fan. I still wouldn't put it past them to make that move anyway, as ridiculous as that sounds.

He's been at Kentucky for 8 years and has a losing record. He's 23-41 in the SEC and gets to play in the SEC East

I think the perfect scenario would be Kirk stepping down after Barta agrees to stipulate the new hire retains BF. Iowa gets stuck with a retread looking to cash a paycheck causing TOE to fall deeper into the abyss.

With turnover at every school. Florida, SC, Mizzou, TN have all burnt thru coaches and Vandy will probably fire Mason soon. The only solid transition has been from Richt to Smart. Florida finally got the guy whose dream it was to coach there.

It's ironic because over the last 20 years the Iowa staff's best recruiting tool has been stability and Doyle. Funny how fast that can change...

Agreed. It's hard to be able to put consistently awful offenses on the field and keep your job outside of the Big Ten
I mean it’s hard to win at Kentucky and he has won. And he’s had some really great defenses there too.

Woods will keep a lot of the staff without allegations together. Plus, he’s a defensive minded guy and a pretty good recruiter. I’m sure he would do a good job.

I'm pretty sure a Special Teams coach has never been promoted to HC at the P5 level. Iowa should be the first to try it IMO
