Gavin Williams out. They must being going ALL IN on an NIL RB
Gavin had fallen to #3 on the depth chart. They've still got Johnson and Leshon Williams who are the clear top 2 plus the freshman Patterson. They could use another RB but it's not a huge need.

LOL no. They need to fix their OL and losing Jack Campbell in the middle and Riley Moss at CB will be tough to replace.
But you said the only teams they would have lost to this year was tOSU and Michigan, next year you play a much easier schedule. If a quarterback only would have made that difference, then you are saying next year your only loss should be the CCG.

Never understood the infatuation with Moss. Merriweather a bigger loss imo.

That said, Iowa will be turning over much of the defense from a personnel standpoint but I'd trust Phil Parker.

How many points did the Defense give up against ISU and Minnesota. Iowa has always been a defense that gives up yards but is very stingy on points.

Disagree. Iowa maxed out imo and credit to them for doing so. Lost to Illinois' backup QB. Minnesota inexplicably pissed the game away with their 3rd string QB despite their running back and OLine dominating the game. PJ being PJ.

Nebraska was probably the most perplexing loss. The secondary got lit up on Black Friday but hard to ask the secondary to be perfect. Nebraska basically didn't need to run offense the entire second half too.

You don't like AA CBs? Moss was awesome as a Hawk. Loved watching him play.

Next year's team is going to be a lot different from a player personnel standpoint so it is very hard to predict anything at this point. I only said it isn't that far of a stretch to think Iowa could have won those three games with better QB play. I don't think that is a crazy assessment at all.

Jack is an enormous loss. Moss is replaceable. VanNess coming back would also be important.

He was the centerpiece of the magical 6 game run to start last season. Was still good this year but no where near an All-American. Merriweather getting honorable mention and Moss 1st team is backwards imo.

Merrieweather is solid but replaceable as well. Campbell and what he brings to both run and pass defense is going to be the hardest to replace.

But Cade wasn’t good for Michigan this year.. He was 9/18 against a bad Colorado State team and lost his job..

KF and BF are playing this scenario perfectly. Expectations for the offense are below low. Bring in a serviceable QB and any talent at TE/WR, deliver an offensive 'eruption' of 21 pts/game next year and win B1G West.

Bingo - Brian, welcome to the Head Coaching position.

It doesn't even matter who they bring in. Their OL will be better because they have a bunch of 4 stars there. Still have Caleb Johnson and Lachey. Any scrub could play QB there as long as he doesn't throw picks. WRs are going to be open off of play action...just how KF wants it.

Its a good pickup and Iowa fans should be excited about it. However, he won't have the same talent around him that he had at Michigan and QB was just one of several issues Iowa had on offense. Still its a step in the right direction for them.

There's one common denominator here that every Hok fan seems to be forgetting: Kirk Ferentz is still the man calling the shots on offense.

You are probably right, 24 pts/game and big win in Outback Bowl. Brian Ferentz National OC of the Year.

I'll be curious to see if some SEC school doesn't offer DeJean an enormous stack of cash.
