Probably the best overall defensive lineman in the state
Likely, definitely the most undervalued
Keep your heads up. Things will pick up soon.
Best in Story County for sure. AJ already is the best in the State.
What matters is at the end of season. Who are finalists and the actual winners of the awards. It is so cute watching isu fans get all worked up seeing players on pre-season watch lists though. A new experience for you all . Maybe someday an isu player will actually win one of those awards.
Hmmm. Do the statistics support that? I was looking at on the ISU site they say he’s never had a sack. Is that true? Yikes if he’s your best DL? 8 TFL in his career? Double yikes. Say this isn’t correct.
Don’t worry they will just move the goal posts.
He's a hole plugger. That type of DL aren't always prolific sack guys. You can't deny he's a force in there regardless of stats.
I'm not going to join in on the Twins troll, but do you actually watch games or do you just look at stats?
Lima is better than Bailey and Bailey is going to crush the sack record at Iowa State. Epenesa is a specialist
I'm not trolling. Epenesa is a stud but overall (run stopping and pass rushing) Lima might be better
I was refuting the statement that he’s the best DL in the state.
It doesn't surprise me that you know next to nothing about football.
Do you know what kind of season Jaquan Bailey had for ISU at DE last year? Let me share.... 14.5 TFL's, 8 sacks, 47 total tackles. Do you know why we had the best LBs in the league and probably will again? Because they were free to run and make plays all over the field.
Do know why all of the above happened? Because of Ray Lima. And that's why he's rightly on the Bronco Nagurski Watch List, and the Outland Trophy Watch List.
That Lima's the best DL in the state?
Possibly. It would be between Lima, Epenesa, and Jaquan Bailey.
C'mon dude. Best interior DL in the state? Absolutely. Eppy is on pretty much every listing as a top-10 or top-15 overall player in the nation and neither of those other guys are even in the top 100. You're being silly.
Epenesa is a specialist and couldn't even be on the field for 50% of the snaps. No doubt he's the best pro prospect in the state (that's eligible after this year) but Lima is a man amongst boys
Just ignore AJ had more sacks and TFL’s than Bailey. Twins is really good at telling us what does and doesn’t count.
So statistically Bailey is not as good as Epenesa either. Lima is really good, but not as good as Epenesa.
Lima is going against legit offenses and Epenesa is playing less than 50% of the snaps. I have no problem if you think Epenesa is better but you can make an argument for Lima as well. He's that good
