Ferentz is as vanilla as you can get. The guy is just average. All the brain dead hawk fans just keep drinking his vanilla KoolAid and are happy getting 9-10 wins, pop their chests out saying they are going to a bowl game, get annihilated (game yesterday), then call for coaches heads. Rinse and repeat every year!

That is BS. Don't let Iowa fans fool you.

KF is not average, he is elite. What he has done at a place like Iowa is remarkable. Give Bowlsby credit, he nailed that hire. It was far more likely to have made another Alford type hire. Given the state their program was in, would have led to a Chizik type situation in which a bigger name outsider failed.

KF is great at the details that can seem like luck. But this Iowa team was lucky, and they always have the built in incubator of the Big 10 West schedule turning average teams into good ones. God damn, how bad is Frost that he can't get NU in on the handouts.

His numbers are there purely due to time and an unbalanced schedule. Does he do as well if he has to play the power teams every year?

Basically, Ferentz = Bohannon

8 wins for a long, long time was a bonus.

We have any Iowa beat writers releasing their Heisman voting? I'm curious if any of them pulled a Pat Harty or Scott Dochterman and voted for Josey Jewell or Daviyon Nixon to win it like in years passed

Leistikows reasoning for Goodson would be that if his line would have played better, he would have won it, so he probably gave him the vote.

I don't know if he has done well, but he has done very well considering it is Iowa. Tough place to win. They could do a LOT worse than KF.

Iowa outrecruits like 8-9 opponents per year. 8 wins should be the floor. With all that money and low recruiting in your division they are doing what they should. (Recruiting rankings is not based on one class but the result of multiple classes.)

We'll see how next season goes. Mich and Oh St. Of course there is Rutgers and the B1G West
