Some of the fun of intramurals was looking at the witty team names. I remember playing against a basketball team named Charred Fetus once.

it was for a summer Iowa Games tournament, but I played against team whose name was "Off little kids" one year and "Off in the woods" another... when they lost, they'd walk up and tell the winning team that they just beat <insert team name>

We usually went with Tuna Tasters. I have no idea where the name came from, but it was especially fun for coed teams.

Horny Coconuts. My sister's coed teams always used that, I ran with it when I was in College.

What about the old "Forfeit" name in the hopes the other team doesn't show for the match?

I kid you not, a couple years ago after the whole Jerry Sandusky thing at Penn State some team got "Sandusky's Shower Slaves" through as their name. Not quite sure where Rec Services draws the line but that seemed to be pretty out there. I always love reading through team names when the brackets come out.

Our basketball team was "short, white and slow"

Our broomball team was "your mom"

Our soccer team (composed of myself and a bunch of friends from Korea and Vietnam) was "token white guy" - BTW, I was a complete liability on that team

At ISU, we used the intramural (regardless of the sport) name of "Maetnekufecin." The coordinators always stated, "You're that team with the weird M-name. What does it mean?"

I'm dating myselfback to the 70's here, but two favorite softball teams were 'Ho Chi Minh and the Viet Cong All-Stars' and the timeless 'Master Batters'.
