dbroncos, I think that positive talk is great. I don't mind if people call in to disagree, or have a criticism. We are all armchair QB's, and that is what has made talk radio what it is.

Perhaps when one has a criticism, one can also find a positive to include, too.

Jon - I think you do a great job on your site and I like watching Steve and Yourself on your "State of the Nation show." I thought the show you did after the Spring games was very good and unbiased and I agreed with your assessments of the upcoming season for the Cyclones and Hawks. I think you are a pAssionate Hawk fan as I am a passionate Cyclone fan....Good Luck to you and Steve Deace and I am looking forward to your show.

As far as Paul Clarks article I did not read into it that Paul was taking any shots at anyone, well maybe he returned one at Deace, but it was not a personal jab....nice article. I think Paul runs a professional site with class, and I think he will be great on the radio...I really liked his show he streamed over the internet on his site last year.

I think one of the biggest things people are assuming here is that because I am a Hawkeye fan, run a hawkeye website and Hawkeye other things, that means I hate the clones.

Nope. I didn't grow up in central Iowa, so I don't have the level of animosity towards Iowa State that some of my friends have that did grow up in central Iowa.

Aye - there is no doubt you (JonDMiller) don't "hate" anyone and will partake in (non-Fox News defined) fair and balanced discussion. The problem is the paranoia some of us have. Can the same be said for Steve Deace's new gig too - there will be gaggles of Hillary Clinton fans anxious to take part in his new programming, expecting & receiving fair treatment?

You seem like an alright guy actually. I do believe you have a wealth of college sports knowledge, a decent personality, and a good voice for radio. I personally wish you'd been a 'Clone but you got your tattoo too early in life, and there isn't a cosmetic surgeon West of the Mississipi that can remove it.

On that note, I thought it would be absolutely hilarious if you, Jon Miller, started his first show on KXNO with 2 straight hours of talk concerning horse racing and UMass basketball. Throw a little Red Sox and Bob Feller spew in there and it would be a Coup de Gras. I then see Ken & Tirrell spending their first show on KXNO talking Hawkeye Football. I think it'd be humorous, spiteful, and genius considering the reception you three are all getting - concerning your new opportunities.

I don't use the word "opportunities" lightly either. Hey! It's a chance, a shot at something that may become big or turn into something else. Lay it all out there. You already know your talents... it'll be your patience that will be tested.

I can't really disagree with anything he wrote. .

As usual, Paul very articulately made his point. He did mention Holdorf in his article, what is his role in all this? That is the correspondent that Marty and Miller need to bring back. He is someone that isn't afraid to get in either Marty or Miller's face when they start to get sidetracked into one of their hysterical rants...

Nice work Paul.

Thank you. When we are talking news, I play it straight most of the time. The TV show is loose at times, I will admit, and Steve and I like to throw in 'out of news' comments, ala PTI. But when its breaking things down, there is a time and place to try and be funny.

If I have John Walters on my program, and we are talking about things Clone from the week that was, that is straight news. If a relationship is established with someone, there might be time to lighten things up in a good natured way. But there is a line.

I personally wish you'd been a 'Clone but you got your tattoo too early in life, and there isn't a cosmetic surgeon West of the Mississipi that can remove it.

It was close. I was born in Perry and lived in Guthrie Center through second grade...moved to 8 miles east of Iowa City for third grade. The formative years

Actually, I contemplated something near what you were talking about, as a joke, but maybe I can save those things after establishing a rapport and trust with the Cyclone side of the audience.
