Yeah I like Chatfield/Curtis together. They just play so well together it seems like. No reason Heise can't start.Yes. It’s gives us some bench production
Also, looks like it is Chatfields first NCAA? Excited to see what he can do!

He is very talented and has been carrying us for short periods of time lately but he has to quite dribbling in traffic. Half a dozen turnovers is too many.If Lipsey is good to go, Jefferson needs to make this his tournament.
I hate to say it but Gilbert was hurting a lot more than he was helping in a lot of games this season. This is still a team capable of winning multiple tourney games without him.Anyone else think losing Gilbert isn’t as detrimental as the national pundits are making it out to be?

I mean losing his defense will suck. He just had 8 steals against BYU 2 weeks ago.Anyone else think losing Gilbert isn’t as detrimental as the national pundits are making it out to be?
I think their offense floor is higher without the current version of Gilbert, but the ceiling isn't quite as high.Anyone else think losing Gilbert isn’t as detrimental as the national pundits are making it out to be?
Not the first weekend. But let's not kid ourselves... going deep without as he was firing on all cylinders is a pipe dream now.Anyone else think losing Gilbert isn’t as detrimental as the national pundits are making it out to be?

Along with that…I thought Jackson stepped it up a notch in KC. He’ll have to bring it as well.

My question is if we should sit Lipsey from the start.... and only use him if he's needed? How do we know we'll even need him at all?Lipsey should be on the "pitch count" during the first game. We should crush them early and rest everyone to get ready for Ole Miss. Good luck to KG. He is such a great player and kid. He did have that "killer instinct" you need to go deep in the tourney. This is a buzz kill to get the 3 see in Wisconsin, but then see this news.
It's leaving Iowa State with a lot less room for error. Yes, others can score and make up that part. But the reality is you replace KG's 30 minutes a game with 5 minutes from Cade Kelderman and everyone else picks up the slack. More fouls for them, more minutes for them, etc. This team can't realistically sustain another injury, for example, and Tamin is unlikely to be 100% effective as it is. It's a problem. But that's why we play the games.I hate to say it but Gilbert was hurting a lot more than he was helping in a lot of games this season. This is still a team capable of winning multiple tourney games without him.
And I should clarify that many on E$PN didn’t feel ISU would get to the second weekend.Probably? We aren’t getting the November / December Gilbert back. It seems that’s what they are describing when they talk about him. Heise has completely turned his game around over the last month. I think that lessens the blow a lot.
But there’s a lot of teams that are dealing with injuries. Gilbert is just the first to announce to not be available. There will be more IMO.

I think it’s quite likely, but more so on Lipsey’s health. But losing Gilbert will limit how far this team will advance
But I’ll enjoy every moment of the tournament. Always more fun to be in it
Some were actually picking North Carolina!Well, we’d have to get through an SEC team to make the second weekend. So of course ESPN doesn’t think ISU has a chance. They’re the SEC.
