Iowa State would have killed Florida in the Cotton if that would have been our destination too. Our defense would have outscored that whole team, IMO.
A lot of teams would have beaten Florida. They didn’t have any of their weapons and simply didn’t want to be there

Could an acceptable bowl opponent be determined before the game is actually played?

I'm way tired of hearing about the ones that are substandard.

I'm looking at it from the alternative (if we beat OU in Dallas).
Even with their "weapons" that Florida defense last year was pure garbage and we would have won.

Will never happen - hok fan is in full 'Tear down ISU' mode because they have very little to embrace in their own program. Their path to happiness is feeling that they are in a better place than ISU at the end of the day and we can't even imagine the mental gymnastics they will go through to get there.

Sit back and realize that the more they are flailing over here about why ISU achievements are tainted really represents the envy and panic that are growing in hokdom.

Oh yes, the moral victory recruiting
Pretty far from a moral victory. My point is that ISU will go head to head with blue bloods if the kid is receptive to them. They sure the hell aren't afraid of battling iowa. Especially for AA recruits.

If an out of state kid isn’t an Iowa fan or ISU fan, they are tending to go to ISU nowadays.
What time frame are you talking about?

Since none of the current 2022 commits are out of state kids that both schools have offered that did not grow up an Iowa or ISU fan, if you look at the 2021 class:

Out of state kids that picked Iowa and had an ISU offer:

Beau Stephens
David Davidkov
Keagan Johnson
Jeremiah Pittman
Arland Bruce

Out of state kids that picked ISU and had an Iowa offer:

Eli Sanders
Malik Verdon
Jaylin Noel
Myles Purchase

Look at 2022 as well just based off the recruits current trajectory and after the racial discrimination.

Although the allegations may have something to do with it, ISU coming off its best season ever will create a lot of momentum in recruiting. ISU could see a good ‘23 class and regress after they go around 6-6 in 2022.
There are a lot of guys this cycle that Iowa has no chance with and Iowa State is right there among the top contenders.
