I am still surprised with the angst about Prohm. He took us to the Sweet 16 with a very serious head case last year. This year, he has us in 4th place in the B12 with another serious head case. Yesterday, when Burton blew a defensive move and followed that with a bad offensive decision, he was on the bench. He came back later with more focus and resolve, and contributed more. There were other examples of strategic movement of players during the game, but that was the best one in my eyes. So, Prohm is adjusting his in-game coaching to a Power 5 conference and in my mind, there will be more to come.
We have seen Solomon Young evolve faster as a player than many expected. Clearly, Prohm can develop players. I can hardly wait to see that guy in his junior and senior years; he could be a real stud. We are also seeing Jackson develop as well, which is critical for next year.
Finally, in my mind, the best endorsement of Prohm as a coach was Monte's returning for his senior year. No way that happens unless Monte, and the people around Monte, think another season with Prohm has something to offer.
