Solomon Young played 27 minutes all season and had not played a single minute all season prior to the Iowa game, which was ISU's 9th game of the year. Over 1/4 of the way through the season and him being out really shouldnt have an impact on ISU.

A guy who started the last year and a half shouldn't have an impact on our team? A game we needed help down low? Really?

I don't disagree. Some time teams can't hit a shot and other times they can't miss. Same thing happened for ISU on Saturday. They couldn't miss from three that game. Most games aren't like that. As a fan, you take the opponents misses and your makes as they come.
Yep. And sometimes a team shoots 53% from 3 like Iowa did against Northwestern and still needs a crazy buzzer-beater to win the game.

The KSU game had them shooting 26% from three and 42% from the field and ISU shot 58% from three and 52% from the field.

That's very true. Now if he'd have ONLY played against his instate rival that would've been exactly like Iowa's situation with Pemsl. Somewhat interesting since they are similar type players.

Close, Pemsl played in the first game of the season as well as the ISU game.

It was the 9th game in a row without him. This excuse would hold up more if he was injured a game or two before they played Iowa.

ISU is no doubt a much different team now than when they played in Iowa City but its not like Young has anything to do with their improvement.

ISU's 14-24 from 3 on Saturday was most certainly an outlier. They won the game by 14 points, though, so they could've missed a few of those and still been ok.

A guy we were counting on this season was out. It doesn't matter when he got hurt.

ISU was hot and KSU was cold. Both were outliers. But that is how it goes sometimes. I wouldn't apologize for it at all.

Are you saying a healthy Solomon Young wouldn't have helped ISU this year?

No, but you havent had and wont have a healthy Young all season. Are you saying his absence played a role in all of ISU's losses this season or just the early season ones? When is the time that his absence no longer impacts the ISU team this season?

Once he is back on the court. It certainly is having an impact. This isn't a binary outcome scenario.

The two close losses to Baylor and KState I think he definitely would have had an impact. Maybe we snag one of those games. Solomon would have definitely helped against those physical teams.

We were also working in two transfers and 3 Freshman in the rotation. Yeah, missing Young and Wigginton was kind of a big deal. There was a reason why several national guys were saying in late November and early December that Iowa State will be a really good team once they get healthy. FFS these things don't just come together over night.

His absence plays a role all season and his absence no longer impacts the 2018-2019 team when he's either back on the court or it's next year. Agree or disagree?
