Yep read that, and also disagree.

Read that this morning, completely disagree with the article and some of the arguments he tries to make to back his position.

Ya I don't think we are a lock either. We need at least one more win.

I can see people arguing whether or not ISU can get in at 10 wins, but I am not nearly as confident as Bobby is. That is some serious overconfidence to call 10-8 a lock. A lot can happen between now and Selection Sunday. I will sweat it until ISU notches another W. If they don't, I will be rooting for the favorite in every small conference tournament.

We are Iowa State. I'm not even sure we would be a lock if we won the conference. :skeptical: But seriously, we need every win we can get.

If things stay the way they are, we're probably in decent (at best) shape. BUT, things aren't going to stay the way they are. There will be upsets in "1 bid" league tournaments that will steal bids, or at the very make more competition for bubble spots. I can't imagine calling anything a lock at this point. K-State has one less conference win, but they are much more a lock than we are. Get me one win out of these last 3 regular season games and I'll feel a LOT better.

Yeah... no. Not a lock, yet. One more win... and that should get us there. It's still possible that we'd be left out at this point. It'd be another example of a team getting shafted, but it's possible.

This article seems incredibly premature. I can imagine it running after ISU wins at least one of their next three games, but not now.

Also, good god Bobby, take a new picture for your articles. You look like the grim reaper slapped on a human suit.

That is the key. However, if it is a normal year for that, ISU will get in. The bubble teams are just brutal.

I agree we aen't a "lock," but I don't think it's a matter of needing one more win. A winning conference record and 20 wins with a good RPI gets you in, as long as you don't completely self-destruct in the last 4. Barring 4 straight losses where we aren't even in the game (and some crazy occurences in the small leagues), we'll get in the tournament.

Fortunately, I don't think we'll really have to worry about it because I think we'll take 1 or 2 of the next 4 at the bare minimum.

Articles like that can turn into the kiss of death. Hope he's right though! I would be a lot more confident with one more win.

We're a lock at playing in the postseason. But I'd say we're one more win away from being a lock at it being the NCAAs and not the NIT.

If ISU had the name ... say .. KU, Duke or UNC they would be a lock as is :wideeyed: Conventional wisdom says that ISU should be in and there is not so much distance between teams like ND and Wiscy who have supposedly been locks for a month or so...
