Holy crap! I was there yesterday - aisles upon aisles of pallets of booze! They're even having beer specials - you know, for us beer guys!

Just curious but is there any info posted about deals in Grimes or are they just honoring some of the prices?
It's cancelled. Nothing to see here. Go home and stay away from the store on Saturday.
In 2019 the Johnston one honored all the prices too. Didnt have quite the selection, but I got some stuff then.
So I'm always hearing Chris talk about Central City normal prices beating the prices during this sale. I've been there probably 4 times before, mostly for bourbon and scotch.
Anybody want to head over there and tell me the price comparisons?

Central City's price are hit and miss. Some items are really good, and others are higher. Their prices can't compete with these, though, in most cases. If you had an item or two in mind, you can call them and ask.
Ames Hy-Vee had Smirnoff varieties 750 ml two for $16 last week and Bacardi two for $18 with coupon. They don't do the huge one all at one time like Urbandale does. I was able at get Tito's handles cheaper in Ames than Urbandale last year.
Transaction completed yesterday. Love this sale, it knocks out a partial Christmas list and restocks my cabinet. About the only time you’ll see me at a Hy-Vee.
