Went to Liberty '12. That was a fun bonus...seeing all the Iowa or Iowa State vanity plates headed down to Memphis, or all the cardinal and gold on people at every rest stop.
I can only claim Liberty '12, really, but was part of the festivities in HS at the Citrus Bowl and Fiesta Bowl. We didn't get to go to the actual games.
As far as the game went, Pinstripe bowl sucked, but New Years in New York City was one of the top trips I’ve ever been on. Place is so different than anywhere else I’ve ever been.
With my extreme dislike of large crowds, NYE in Times Square would be a special kind of hell for me. To each his/her own!
Oh no, I wasn’t in that mass of humanity. I need my personal space. I was at a restaurant in lower Manhattan with the group of 20 we flew out with. No way you’d ever find me crammed shoulder to shoulder for 12 hours there. The city around that time though is pretty awesome.
