anyone have an educated guess? if we win 5 or 6 is he gone?
I say fire him right now. Guy has not won 1 single game for us.
I don't think we'll fire him after one season if we don't make a bowl.
How could anyone possibly know this?
It all depends when a FBS coach is ready to give him a chance as head coach.
It's not like you have to have success at ISU before you get a promotion (Chizik, Herman, etc).
My guess is not long. He will have FBS offers within 2 years.
Let's focus on the now.
Yep. I'd put the over/under at 3.5 years. That could be 2.5 if we improve very quickly.
He seems good for the program. Keep him as long as you can.
Hopefully you mean if we win 5 or 6 hell be gone to another job. Not get fired.
We keep him as long as he wants to stay.
I wouldn't mind him be coming our head coach
It is the second day of practice. Aren't there other things to worry about? Why even go down this road?
Of course that's what he meant. Why on earth would he be fired?
Easy answer... after this season's 13-0 season he will go to Iowa, Nebraska or some other school desperate to get rid of their stale coaches.
That's right... I brought Iowa into this... I am THAT guy today.
Hard to talk about practice when nobody is seeing it.
Hard to talk about Mangino at ISU when no one has seen him coach.
I would feel very confident going in on the under, here.
Rhoads is starting his 6th season with his 3rd offensive coordinator, after all. And Mangino is a former major conference HC.
Either Mangino performs and moves up, or he doesn't and heads out the door (perhaps with Rhoads, if the team really does not perform).
ISU goes away from Head Coach mentality
Paul Coaches the defense Special Teams
Mangino Coaches the offense
Both make lower level head coach money
