Born Lich, Hessen, Germany. Live in Cedar Rapids, IA. No idea how many miles.

Edit: 4,500 miles according to Google Earth

It's FARTHER, not Further..and I'm 2,067 miles away.

Born and raised in Mason City. Live in Honolulu, HI. Not sure on the distance, but I'm guessing about 3,000 miles or more? Do I win a prize for being furthest?!

So far. I think I'm next with ~1960

Sorry KC, you are third/fourth

Shouldn't "how far away" be a measure of both time and distance? 40 years and 250 miles for me.

Or 4 hours travel time if I could go back home but we all know you can't go back home except in country western songs.

How do you like living in Dallas? Do you have any opinions of Austin area as a place to live? We are kicking around the idea of moving to the Austin area (Round Rock, etc.) for various reasons.

My wife lived in Austin for several years. It's an awesome town, one of the best I've visited. Lots of entertainment options, close to the water and best of all, it's nothing like the rest of Texas.

500 some from where I was born, only about 150 from where I mostly grew up(all different states). I'd like to be back in DSM but looks like the wife is taking us the other direction. Hopefully no farther than CO.

3 miles. Kinda crazy since I've lived in 7 states along the way. I guess you really do come home.

Basically the other side of the state.

Odd fact related to this. Other than my time at ISU I have never lived more than a mile from highway 20 in Iowa. Several different locations and close to the extremes East/West, but always near highway 20

One time I discovered that a line of latitude extending straight west from my childhood house in eastern Iowa went right through ISU's campus. This was an interesting fact for me to learn as an ISU student. Maybe in the future I will look to return to that latitude somewhere else.

And Round Rock sucks. It has no soil. Any town USA. It's best redeeming quality is its vicinity to Austin.
