Help: How does one "Opt in" to a forum?

Click on "settings" at the top of the forums page. Wait for page to load. On the left hand side of the page, click on "My Subscriptions". Up will come the subscriptions that you are eligible for.

Actually you have to click on "settings" at the top of the forums page. And then Permissions Groups on the left. Sorry about that, memory fail.

I figured it out, there was a bar at the top. Thanks for the help anyways!
