Playing with the beavers will be fun.
We are projected (and prior to the Bolton news, so this projection would basically assume he would not be eligible at this point) as the #48 team in the country next year.
Oregon State is projected as the #85 team in the country.
ISU is projected as #7 in the Big 12; OSU is projected as #8 in the Pac-12.
ISU = 112.1 points scored per 100, 97.5 points given up per 100
OSU = 110.1 points scored per 100, 100.4 points given up per 100
ISU = +14.6 per 100
OSU = +9.7 per 100
That puts Iowa State ahead by 4.9, which you multiply by ~72 possessions per college game, making Iowa State roughly a 3.5 point favorite on a neutral court.
I do not know what kind of reputation the "Beaver Den" has, but probably not a strong one. This being even or Iowa State by one seems pretty reasonable.
Bolton probably adds 1.5 to 2.5 points to our net efficiency above.
I thought we knew about this already? I mentioned it was the battle for Hallice.
Looking forward to hammering some beaver!
NO YELLING ON THE BUS
Is not real until we have a date!
It's what I keep checking for.
I scheduled a home and home with some beavers once. Turned out it was a sting and I got arrested.
Going to make the trip down?
Looks like they got their star player (and Coach's son) Tres Trinkle back for his senior year. Trinkle averaged 20, 8 and 4 last year on 50% shooting from the field. He's a stud (5.4 projected PPRG!). They also return two of their other three top scorers - a skinny 7 footer who averaged over 3 blocks per game and a 6'5" guard. Just from looking at their roster the strength of their team seems to be the frontcourt. Their weakness seems to be the defensive end as they finished 150th on KenPom.
They were 10-8 overall at home last year. Did not have a notable win in the non-conference. Lost to Missouri on a neutral shortly after we waxed them at Hilton. No notable recruits coming in.
Seems like an opportunity for a decent non-conference road win but certainly not a gimme. They'll likely be a Top 75ish team.
It's actually Tinkle, which makes it funny. Tinkle and beaver, hehe.
Chris Hanson is such a dork in person.
Is it too soon to print up some 'wreck the beavers" shirts?
any idea on when this game will be announced/scheduled? Live in Oregon, and want to watch the Cyclones wax the beavers!
Oregon State set a date for its marquee home non-conference men’s basketball game, as the Beavers take on Iowa State on Saturday, Nov. 9. Game time will be announced at a later date when television schedules are finalized.
Probably. Will likely stay at the "Y".
