That's be a pretty bold career move for Dana. Leave WVU hanging into a rebuilding year to downgrade to HOU... Possibly take a pay cut or stay relatively even to do so... I'd assume his long game is to land another, better P5 job by means of bringing HOU out of the crater Applewhite created?

My understanding is that their fanbase is torn on him, some want him gone and others don't. Probably wouldn't be a huge meltdown if he left.

McD left in part because he knew it was time. He was awful at ISU and Holgy isn’t that awful at WV. He seems to sniff a lot though.
He’s quirky so a lot of schools aren’t great fits for him.

Wouldn't be a good fit for me in either spot based on political outlook...but Morgantown is hella more beautiful than Houston (also less humid, and probably smells better).

It’s not so much about how things look or smell or anything like that in WV it’s the people. Living with a bunch of hill jacks would be terrible. The second hand smoke, the dust from scratch lottery tickets thick in the air, trucks spewing black fumes on purpose, lots of opioid related theft, violence and crime.
