ESPN Radio - Bristol, CT - Listen Online
I will listen...will do a recap for those who can't.
OOOOOOO. ****** JUST CALLED US THE HAWKEYES!
When did Trent Johnson get a radio show?
Host called us a dangerous team in the Big 12...
Brought up the loss to Kansas, asked what we learned that helped us win...CFH said it was a tough week, but guys knew we had to have this win, especially on senior night. 21 assists on 27 baskets, was a good team effort.
CFH gives the guys a lot of credit. They had a players-only meeting after the OU game...they were there for an hour, had a great practice afterwards. Most points OSU has given up all year.
CFH thinks Clyburn is one of the most versatile players in the Big 12, touted his rebounding and key scores.
That was about it. Good coverage!
Ugh, Freddy (Coleman)... you're better than that.
Nice interview (other than the hawkeye thing)...
Pretty blah interview, I think. This is as good as I could do in real time:
ESPN: Tough loss vs. Kansas, what did team learn?
FRED HOIBERG: Proud of how guys responded, tough play at end of game. Moved past it, important to come home and take care of business on senior night. Had to have win, good quality win against good team. Proud of response of team, 21 assists on 27 baskets, played unselfish.
ESPN: Babb said OU loss was brutal. What does it say about your team that you take that loss and then get this win?
FRED HOIBERG: Get losses out of systems, players only meeting, good prep for OSU. Best practice of year, and good prep day before this game. Good energy and held OSU to 37%, and great offense.
ESPN: Clyburn great game, aggressive. How tough will you be in B12 tourney and NCAA?
FRED HOIBERG: He’s a good player, tough matchup, was terrific tonight.
ESPN: Great win over OSU.
My favorite part was CFH saying he would wait until midnight to make sure the players had time for their meeting!
I thought that's what he said, but then it sounded like they had a practice right after the players-only meeting...they wouldn't have done that the same day as the OU loss, would they?
Well, if they did, it must have worked!
