Are they able to be with their dad at all? My wife is very at-risk due to an underlying condition, so we have talked alot about the scenario of her getting it. We don't have all the answers, but we sure don't like the idea of her just wasting away in a Covid unit without me (and others).

I don’t believe they can have contact with him. That is what I was told

Off the grid
That's a really long time in the icu

This may not be the thread for this discussion and I'll happily move it to the general covid thread if request. I was reading an article this morning about covid patients suffering from PTSD that were in ICU for a long period of time. I'm not saying this is going to happen in this particular case but it's occurring in a number of patients.

I don't believe that is true of just ICU, but it is true of those that have been put on a ventilator. If you think a mask is uncomfortable, try a ventilator on for size. You would gladly wear a mask to keep anyone that you know from having to go through that. ICU treatment may include a ventilator, but also may use less invasive methods to assist breathing, like oxygen masks and CPAPs. But why not avoid it all? Just wear a mask, people.

If you are an ISU donor can you donate to this fund without a compliance problem?
