Crippling blow to an already thin secondary
Weird timing. Wonder if he was headed down the depth chart?
His backup is #30 in this clip
I think he was asked nicely to leave for not living up to internal expectations (can’t stop drinking).
I don't think that's the case. He was the starter going into this season and said his weight room numbers were the best they have ever been and was feeling great
Oh Twins, you're nothing if not consistent. Snyder not only was NOT going to start, but he was struggling to hold onto a backup role. He was on final warning if you will after his OWI, and he blew it. It's unfortunate but hardly crippling.
Yeah doesn't seem like a huge loss for them, depth wise is probably more concerning than anything else. Butler is still going for 150 yds. and 2 TD's against them!
Link? @YeahBuddy said Snyder was the second best safety in the state behind Hooker this summer
Identified as Iowa's X-factor at safety less than a week ago and a leader Iowa needs to be sharp right away for a young unit
Definitely a pretty huge loss for them
I'd be more concerned if it was a LB since Iowa is really thin there. We have depth and experience at safety. Another loss there would hurt though.
He wasn't going to start? I assumed he was.
OK but where is the link to this "Snyder not only was NOT going to start, but he was struggling to hold onto a backup role." That definitely isn't accurate
The "deeply saddened" quote would lead me to believe this wasn't really his choice.
Wasn't a commitable starting spot.
Hopefully he finds a good landing spot and can turn things around.
He was the #1 FS on their latest depth chart
With the way @CyTwins is making this sound he should be really concerned about the week 1 matchup with SDSU.
Oh, cytwins. As closely as you monitor the state of Iowa sports, there is no way you don't know the story here. I know it and rarely go to message boards other than football recruiting and general team progress. He was voted off by the team's leadership council because of the latest transgression. But you already know that.
His recovery was underway and he was listed as a starter in last week’s two-deeps.
