Have not seen any rankings yet. Roads games at Utah, Kansas, W VA an home games vs TX Tech, K State and UCF. I guarantee you it will be tetter than 3rd from bottom.
Cyclones schedule will be against better teams than the Sukeyes

Anyone ever do a "Where are they now" type follow-up on that Hawkeyes on my belly guy?
Does he know he's become a meme and an adjective for at least a third of that fanbase?

I saw an article power ranking the B1G. It had Iowa as the #6 team in the conference. So out of 18 teams, 12 of them are expected to be weaker than Iowa. Of course who knows if the writer looked at the schedules first and realized who Iowa will face. Of the 5 teams ranked higher in the conference, Iowa plays one of them. So, this guy in theory thinks they would be favored in 8 conference games.

The Big 12 is going to be 16 teams now. These bigger conferences just lead to huge schedule imbalances that really seem to negate any sense of fairness. From one year to the next, we might have a better team. But if the schedule rotation is unfavorable, your results with that "better" team are likely to be fewer wins. Oh well, this iteration will likely be short-lived anyway. No doubt in 2 or 3 years, there will be another new shakeup.

Because of Iowa's protected rivals we're going to end up with similar 30-40 range SOS as Iowa but local/national media will still give them credit for playing an elite schedule through the transitive property of the top Big Ten schools that typically do play elite schedules going forward.

I guess it's better than the previous situation where ISU's schedule was almost always much harder in reality yet falsely painted as easier by Big Ten homer media.

There's at least the possibility that some year Iowa could have a #7 SOS, ISU has an easy #48 schedule, and Iowa fans can cry about it without realizing they had that exact setup themselves for nearly 20 years.

Life is good in Big 10 West football. If I were a season ticket holder, I would be bored out of my mind. Truly unwatchable football.

Hassell and CW agreed that Iowa State at home is the 2nd toughest game on Iowa’s schedule. That is wild.

“The Granddaddy Of Them All,” a Rose Bowl … B1G conference game played in November. Scoreboard, CyClowns! - Hawkeye On My Belly dude
There is more than one of those dudes out there. I saw one at the Adventureland Water Park a few years ago, that was not the one from all the memes.

Its funny how they prove all the stereotypes right repeatedly, yet always deny they are true.

Iowa basically protected their entire B1G west schedule, so they basically are going to continue with their cupcake B1G W schedule.

B1G was stupid to let them protect that many games.

But wait a gosh darned second……. Gonzo told all of us that Iowa was finally getting a tougher schedule this year?

If having one of the easiest schedules in the country is tougher than what they’ve had the last few decades…. it must have been total crap the last few decades?

Pro Football Focus (also written as ProFootballFocus, and often referred to by its initials, PFF) is a sports analytics company that focuses on thorough analysis of the National Football League (NFL) and NCAA Division-I football in the United States. PFF produces 0–100 Player Grades and a range of advanced statistics for teams and players by watching, charting, and grading every player on every play in every game both at the NFL and FBS level.

I would say they would probably have the best idea on this....

Their player grades are exceptional. This just lists # of "ranked" matchups on each team's schedule this year. "Ranked" as in, preseason rankings? Because those are always spot on. Lol.
