That's fine, all I'm saying is when it's your team (Iowa, Iowa State, UNI, whoever) you care how they do in the tournament (whatever tournament) and those that say they don't aren't telling the truth.

You're right. That said, it's nice to be playing in a tournament that matters.

Which is fine but I'm not gonna act like Iowa winning last night wasn't great for them and the program. Nationally televised game, tournament win, great crowd. It was a good W and although being in the NCAA Tournament would be great, still playing isn't a bad thing

This thread has been bitten, and we should smack it in the head with a shovel before it turns and starts biting other, more useful threads.

Agreed. I have the idea that we don't know the Cyclones are in the NCAAs tomorrow night. It hardly comes up. Instead, we're focused on the President's picks, Kansas, Fab Melo, 8 billion Iowa threads, but very little on the Cyclone game.

I was just shocked that Iowa had over 13,000 paying customers last night. Usually they have to give away about 6,000 tickets, plus pay people to get a hot dog and a drink on top of it just to show up.

I commend them for last night's showing, although tickets were pretty cheap. I just think it's funny how they acted like it was the national championship game, when it was the NIT and Dayton didn't want to be there at all.

I commend you for trying with this post, although it failed pretty hard.

Tell me where I'm wrong then. Iowa students were given free tickets and a free hot dog and a drink to most games this season. That is a fact.

And Dayton was ticked they didn't make the NCAA tourney AND that they got screwed over by having to travel to IC as the better seed.

It happened, what...twice? Is that most? That's where you are wrong, for one. But I'm sure you knew that.

They would have had to travel either way. That is their fault for accepting those NCAA tourney games at their location. They can be ticked all they want, they were traveling no matter who they played.

Give me some link to where they gave away 6,000 tickets to any game. Go.

They acted as though they were excited about watching Iowa play. Is that wrong? Show me ISU's attendance when they were last in the NIT. Go.

Dayton could have declined the NIT bid if they so pleased. I'm sure they would rather have been in the NCAA's, but you can say that about every team in the country. Find me one team that would deny Dayton's spot in the NIT (that didn't get into the NCAAs). Go.

I believe you are wrong in many instances. Now show me where I am wrong. Go.

My theory: It's because everybody is pre-occupied with tomorrow that all these nonsense threads are coming up. Everybody is camping out on CF because they're thinking about the game. However, I think we ran out of useful analysis of the game about midway through Tuesday. Because basketball-brain is preventing us from actually leaving CF and doing something constructive we waste time on ridiculous threads instead.

You know what else Dayton could have done? Win more games. Win more games and get into the NCAAs. They only have themselves to blame for everything they're upset about.

I agree. That is what i have been doing anyway. I refresh the threads every 10 minutes or so just to see if there is any activity.

Iowa State and Hilton broke NIT attendance marks in 2004. The Cyclones drew 12,196 and 14,020 fans in their two NIT games they hosted, averaging 13,144 fans per contest.

Do I win something?

No, but you proved my point....so maybe. I can't give coupons, though...sorry.
