I like HD being progressive and looking to the future. Too many Harley people are mad about the company making a proto-type that is electric and totally different. I out grew crotch rockets when I turned 30, but it is still pretty interesting and I would love to see it in person. I am a fan of all motorcycles so I can appreciate it.

I see both sides. For instance, I'm an American V8 guy. The sound of one of those bad boys opening up is unmatched. I'm sure a lot of the Harley guys feel the same.

Pretty cool. As a tradition HD guy, I love that they are thinking outside the box to develop new technologies.

They would probably be ok for the daily commute crowd but I like to be able to get out on a road trip once or twice a year and that won't cut it. I think they are claiming a range of about 170 on a charge.
It's a good start and I think it could be a hit overseas.

I'm guessing if they put this technology in a bagger they could almost double the battery capacity with the extra room (not including the bags, they could be used for additional range). I would guess with the weight increase it would be capable of 250-300mi. This is nothing but speculation on my part.

The Harley riders are growing older. Going to an electric bike is the next progression as they prepare for their electric scooters and wheelchairs.

I think this is pretty cool. I hope it actually sounds like that, because that would be awesome.

I'm pretty happy with my H-D FXDB and have no plans to get rid of it, but the Livewire would be a fun bike to commute with. I'm sure a lot of the Harley crowd will poo-poo this but they're never happy with anything resembling change unless it's a bigger, louder engine.
