According to the engineers around the office it's engineer's week this week. So congrats to all the CF engineers out there! Of course most professions have a day. Leave it to engineers to feel they deserve a whole week.

Engineering is a terrible major and makes terrible money and they're all nerds.

There, I said what everyone was thinking.

I took a little shot at engineers in my op because I like to rib the engineers around my office every now and then. But I actually like engineers. I generally find them to have a cynical and dry sense of humor. My kind of people!

Sometimes I honestly think people hold lawyers in higher regard than engineers. It might be the most universally despised profession, following politician of course.

Best thing about E-Week is that my company sponsors boondoggles that gets you out of actual work to "promote engineering". Which ends up being a couple guys screwing off for a few hours and getting a shirt out of the deal.

When I was a little kid the old farmers used to say "We got water running up hill today" during any big spring melt. You know when waters running everywhere and everything is a slushy mess. As a little kid I thought it was pretty funny cause these guys didn't joke much.

As an adult non-engineer I made the same comment when everything was a crazy melting mess in St. Paul and got corrected by a hydraulic engineer who got all serious and said "Water doesn't run up hill". He was not deadpanning either.
