Not of this World
We made it 20 posts and nobody nominated ISU winning in Norman in football with a RSSR walk-on making his first career start at QB as the best sports moment of last year? Shame on all of you.

5-10 years from now if you rank those three, umbc will be the most remembered.

You could be right although I think the Minneapolis Miracle will be remembered pretty similarly to the Music City Miracle. UMBC is actually hurt a little because the game wasn't very close. I'm sure people will remember it happened but there's not many lasting images or appear to be any very memorable players from that game.

I was thinking yesterday about what the greatest sports moment was for each of the past few years. What do you think? And what makes it the greatest sports moment?

2018 - ?
2017 - Pats comeback in Super Bowl
2016 - Cubs win WS or Cavs comeback
2015 - Pats Super Bowl win?
2014 - ?
2013 - Auburn returns field goal to beat #1 Bama?
2012 - Kings win Stanley Cup as 8 seed
...

Edit: 2014 Royals did not win WS..
The Cavs comeback was more impressive and fun to watch. Game 7 was one of the best basketball game I've seen.
Not a lot happened in 2014, I'd go with Germany beating Brazil 7-1 in the world cup

I’m so happy they pulled it off, because another postseason like that probably would have killed me.

I'm not a Cubs fan but I wanted to see history so I was pulling for them.

I suppose even if they lost in 7 games in extra innings, it'd still make for great theater for the casual sports fan.

Can’t do the miracle because Viking got murdered the next game. Whites gold medal or the cross country ski win. However, it’s cross country skiing and might as well been a spelling b. How about the curling guys that looks like lost husbands who went to have a drink and ended up winning a gold medal

UMBC and their Twitter troll job following for sure. 16 seeds are 1-135 all time, that's 34 years (older than me) that it took for this to happen.

When yeahbuddy got banned for calling the mods a bunch of #ussies!!

Which year? And there's nothing remarkable about that. Just someone on that level, being on that level. It's like saying the year the Cleveland Browns sucked. :)

Well, 2014 was a good run to get to the WS as a wildcard and than make it a seven game one run series.

I think that Royals-A's WC game was probably similar to the Vikings win this year, but with more drawn out drama and less fans watching.

A few slightly older ones

2004 - Red Sox coming back from an 0-3 hole to beat the Yankees.

2008 - Michael Phelps winning 8 gold medals
