Don't really have one. Vehicle are a tool to me; nothing more. My dream vehicle gets decent mileage, is reliable, and let's me do what I need to.

I'm the same way - I will add in very good safety ratings and space for family. Right now we have a Subaru Legacy, and are looking to upgrade to either a Subaru Forester or Outback. They meet every qualification on my list.

If money were no object, I'd probably go with the Ford GT from 2006, in the Gulf Oil paint scheme. I'm a huge Ferrari fan, but since they moved away from manual transmission after the 355, The brand doesn't appeal to me as much. Since a kid, I was always a huge fan of the GT40 though from Ford and I think the new version they built in the mid 2000's was a great car.

I'd like a hummer.

If I'm dreaming, then gasoline is free and there is no real or perceived effects on the environment. In my dream, I get a hummer. H1

Back in the day I had a white, with tan leather interior 56 MG Midget.[sigh] But alas, it went away when the boyfriend did.

I was too an MG owner in HS. Had a 72 MGB (Chrome Bumpers, all white, black leather interior). Loved that little thing. One day a fellow HS girl decided her text message was more important then driving and rear-ended me which totaled the poor car.

Bought for $3K, put $750-$1000 in, drove it for a year, got rear ended, sold as is for $2.5K, got $3.5K from insurance so a nice $2K profit and a fun year... Still miss it though.

I have a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am that I am restoring. It was pretty high on my list, despite not being overly expensive. Outside of the TA, I would love to one day own a 1957 Chevy, 1961 Chevy Impala bubble top, 1974 Dodge Challenger, 1972 AMC AMX, or a Delorean.

My high school car, a 1970 Pontiac Grand Prix, 455 HP. The picture is very close to how mine looked, it was green with black landau top. Car was screaming fast (personally had it at 150 mph twice) and had a huge backseat, great for the drive-inn.

Not a fan of the rest of the cars you have listed but love the 79 T/A. Friend of mine had one in high school with a 403. They seemed so fast back then but a Camry would probably beat up on one today. My sisters had the Camaro Z-28 back then and the hood actually had flaps on it that would open when you punched it. I remember as a young kid always asking her to open it up.

If I'm dreaming, its the Aston Martin Vanquish in James Bond. I'd bring road rage to the next level with some rockets, machine gun and a cloaking device.

Grounded in reality, it would be a black Audi R8.

1970 AAR 'Cuda. Have wanted one since I was 16.

Fun fact. I was at the Chicago auto show a few weeks ago and one of the Mopars actually had a pistol grip shifter. I believe it was a special edition Challenger but not 100%.

That was one of the 'cool' options for Mopars of that era. My dad had a 1970 Challenger RT 440 six pack car that had the pistol grip. I'm not sure that functionally it made much difference, but it definitely was fun to shift.

I see you are in CR, so here' an AAR story for you.

Back in 1979 I was shopping or my first car, at a place owned by Jerry Keeny on West Post Road, north of 16th Ave. I took my dad over there so he could see the 1963 Impala I wanted to buy. It turned out to be a bondo bucket, so dad said "no." Also on the lot were 1969 Nova SS 396, a 1969 Camaro RS/SS 396, and a 1970 AAR Cuda 4sp car in orange. The most expensive one of the 3 was the Cuda, at $2500 and I begged my dad to help me buy it (since I only had $1500 to spend). He took a look at the 3 carbs, and the 4 speed pistol grip shifter and said "no way am I going to let you kill yourself in that car." So we passed it over a very nice 1973 Charger SE in Black. The Charger was also great car to have as a teen, but I always think of that AAR are the one that "got away." Today I don't think you could buy a decent AAR hood for $2500.

I love cars and have owned too many to think about. I am the opposite of the guys who say they don't give two $h1ts about cars. I love a beautiful car and consider them therapy, art, hobby, etc.... all rolled into one.

I would have a very hard time picking one car if I was able to buy anything that is new today... so many out there that are special machines. I would probably go with a Viper, but there are proabably 10 I would struggle to choose from.

If I could have any car in the world in my garage, it would be a Superbird with a Hemi. I also passed on one of those that was for sale near Cedar Rapids in the early 80's, for $3000. If only we knew then, what we know now....
