Nowhere and Everywhere
My wife and I laid down the rule 6 years ago that Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are no travel days and our kids will wake up Christmas Day in their own bed. Which means we get the whole two days with just our kids. We do extended before and after Christmas. But it will be just the 5 of us until Tuesday. Best decision we ever made as it is so relaxing compared to other alternatives.

Reading through this my somewhat annoying father in law and my mom going into one of her toddler silent treatment modes are minuscule.

I've thought about this type of response in the past. Imply that we are copulating in ways that ermmmmmm......do not result in the possibility of conception, or just flat out say I'll let you know when I let your son start banging me bareback.

As I learned from the movie "We're the Millers"

Going with the Big A. Anal or Abstinence, neither makes a baby.

We implemented this rule this year along with only one family a day and nap time is not negotiable.

Oh, and since I'm divorced I get the added fun of alternating every year if we get Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. It freakin sucks. I don't get to see my big boys until Christmas morning. It's always SO much fun picking them up from their moms house. Yay

And it sucks just as much on years we get them for Christmas Eve. Gotta get everything opened up before their mom comes to pick them up at 9 am on the dot.

I'm 27 and single. My grandparents always ask me when they are going to get grandchildren. Then they ask why I didn't bring a girl with me.

People that don't understand boundaries are the worst.

Married? Single? Kids? Who cares?

The 'why aren't you married?' crowd usually shuts up if I throw back 'because I'm enjoying life'.

Christmas is generally the most relaxing time of the year for me. I just lie on the couch and my mom makes me about 5 meals a day. Even if I'm on vacation on a beach somewhere, I still gotta make decisions, but at home I just totally zone out.

The. Whole. *******. Month.

2 years ago, she stayed 2 months. Had to have a difficult conversation with the wife about that.
TBH, I would go batspit crazy if I stayed with one of the kids for two weeks, let alone two months. You would not have this problem with me. :D

Or if you want to freak them out:

"I was going to bring her but she caught something sharp in my car and deflated"

"I was going to bring her but Cinnamon called in sick and she has to work the main stage"

"She'll be here next year, just got the tracking number confirmation that she's leaving Moscow next week"

Or go full destruction: My boyfriend's a Muslim, h

My complaints are really minor compared to some of those on this thread . . .

My wife has 3 adult siblings, all but one are married, so 7 of us in our 20's and 30's w. spouses. Up until last year, 2-3 of them insisted it was fun to do a drawing and get gifts for each other. Yuck. And we all (mostly) live in different places. It just devolved into I send you something from my Amazon list, you send me something from your Amazon list. Last year I sent someone a $20 Amazon gift card, and someone else sent me a $20 Amazon gift card.

Seriously, take $20 out of your pocket and hand it to the person on your left would accomplish the same thing.

Then this: one sibling isn't married and has no kids - she buys gifts for our kids, which is fine and nice, but no one expects it. But since "we" feel "bad for her," (I suppose because she has no kids to get gifts), we all pitch in $10-20 to buy her a gift. My question is this: if she eventually gets married and has kids, do we not have to buy her kids gifts in the future because we "over gifted" her???

Same-generation adult relatives (siblings, cousins, spouse's siblings, etc.) shouldn't exchange gifts. it's just dumb.

Wife got a text from her sister saying we are also going to be celebrating our now 19 yr old nephew's birthday on Christmas. I have no idea when his birthday is but it's nowhere near Christmas. Telling us it is his birthday is code for "put five bucks in a envelope and give it to him". Absurd.
