Thanks to @Farnsworth for this idea! I think it'll get some good thinking going - what are the top five albums you've ever personally owned?

For me:

- Rise/Fall of Ziggy Stardust - Bowie
- Blood on the Tracks - Dylan
- Thriller - MJ
- Paul's Boutique - Beasties
- Exile on Main St - Stones

A little skewed since I don't buy albums anymore and just listen to Spotify, but in no particular order:

Rubber Soul-The Beatles
El Camino-The Black Keys
Hot Fuss-The Killers
Long Walk to Never-Jaymay
Near Truths and Hotel Rooms-Todd Snider

Graceland - Paul Simon
Thriller - MJ
Born to Run - Bruce Springsteen
Abbey Road - The Beatles
Boston - Boston

I'm leaving off any compilation albums.

Also, I'm sure this list will change as people that are more intelligent and have better memories than me start posting stuff.

So basically your 5 favorite albums?

There's enough that I really love that could be here on a given day, but for our purposes....

"Decoration Day" Drive-By Truckers
"Exile on Main Street" Rolling Stones
"Vitalogy" Pearl Jam
"Boys & Girls in America" The Hold Steady
"Full Moon Fever" Tom Petty

That was just limiting it to 1 entry per artist. "Sticky Fingers" by the Stones is in there.

Led Zep - Physical Graffiti
Black Sabbath - Paranoid

Now that I'm awake, I suppose I better add these two:
Joshua Tree - U2
Automatic for the People - REM

Excluding Greatest Hits/compilation albums (otherwise it would be cheating):

Def Leppard - Hysteria
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Shinedown - Sound of Madness
AC/DC - Back in Black
Guns N Roses - Appetite for Destruction

Kinda harder now with newer bands, since I don't often buy a whole album online. I'll just cherry pick songs now from albums.

Decided this is too hard if I think about it so went to first five that popped into my mind as ones I have played repetitively.

The Band: Music from Big Pink
Miles Davis: Kind of Blue
Steve Miller Band: Fly Like an Eagle
Red Hot Chili Peppers: Blood Sugar Sex Magik
John Mayer: Continuum
