I saw the Jackson Five at the Iowa State Fair when I was a kid. Oldest brother drove us so parents didn’t have to hear loud music.

Pretty sure it was 1980 REO Speedwagon at the Unidome. Favorite concert is either BB King at Tama casino or Warren Zevon at 1st Ave. Minneapolis

Miami Sound Machine in Omaha in the late 80s with my parents. Followed by McCartney and Wings at JTS. Guessing my first concert without parents was Aerosmith at Hilton around 1994.

Not to nit-pick, but Wings disbanded in 1981. Paul McCartney played Cyclone Stadium in 1990. The stadium was renamed after Trice in 1997.

That was the first show I worked.

OAR at Toad Holler in Des Moines in 2003.

I also saw Matt Costa and ALO in Minneapolis around this time. Not sure which one was first. That was a great show in a small venue.

Parents drug me to John Denver in late 70s, my 1st live show. 1st rock show was REO Speedwagon opening for Cheap Trick in 1982 or 83. Three of us went to the Five Seasons Center in CR right after school and were the 1st in line for seats. 8th grade.

92 Lollapalooza in Minneapolis. Skipped my first 2 days of classes at ISU to go. Had Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ministry, Fishbone, Ice cube, and STP. Incredible show, I can't believe how much talent they had at one show.

This is how society eventually crumbles. People complaining loud enough at other people correcting them until finally, no one corrects anyone and the spread of misinformation runs rampant on the internet until you don't know what to believe. Oh wait ...

(This will age me but) My first rock concert was the Grass Roots and Guess Who at C.Y. Stephens. Although I still like some of their songs (which hit during the all-important adolescent years), I don't listen to their records today.

I actually saw the Don Ellis band before then (same venue) but it was sort of a school trip, so it doesn't count (although the show was quite good).
