For those who would call Ellis Hobbs a traitor for his MNF intro

A quote from Ellis about coming back to ISU for his graduation:

"I loved it dearly for the experiences, for the people. I've never seen people embrace you with love as much as they did when I was in college," he said. "They just opened up their arms. I'm proud to be a Cyclone. They gave me a chance when nobody else would."

you know, maybe he never said that he was from Iowa State because he was waiting to get his degree.... idk, it would be really cool if he started now that he's finished his academic career.

Better watch out, Cy's Taxi. I stated the same thing under a different thread:

Okay, I'll throw this out as a theory and see if anyone else thinks I'm on the right track.

Iowa fans have made a big deal out of Hobbs using his high school instead of ISU on his little bio.

Maybe, just maybe, Hobbs was waiting to get his degree from ISU before using ISU on his bio. He seems like a pretty standup guy, so maybe he believes since he didn't graduate from ISU, he couldn't use it.

Now that he has his degree, it will be interesting to see if he does put down Iowa State in his bio for television.

Again, just a theory.

Man, I got blasted for it by vanillathrilla. I agree with you, of course, and I have nothing BUT respect for Hobbs. Great player, but even more a great person.

Actually, all of the players for New England said their high school's name that night. Not just Hobbs.

:biglaugh: Chalk this up "Hobbs is ashamed of ISU because he uses his high school" to another Hawkeye myth or urban legend.

I did not know that all the Patriot players said where they went to high school that night. Good job out of you.

Hobbs has said Iowa State University before in introductions so it has nothing to do with him not yet having his degree.

The problem with your theory is he has said ISU before...

Ellis is a standup guy; congrats on getting the degree.

Your right. A couple years ago he actually said "THE up and coming Iowa State University". I'd say he's definatly proud of where he came from.

I'm pretty sure i can recall a time or two when this was done before Ellis was even a pro. Hobbs wasnt the 1st guy to rattle off his highschool.
I think he said his HS because ISU fired his coach. Now that PR is the coach he may switch back. BTW not every Patriot said his HS that night. Most said their college. I actually DVR'd that game.
