Looks like dowling got their first commit from an Illinois player who wanted to play this fall instead of waiting till spring.

I can't blame the HS athletes. A college scholarship or even recruitment to play D3 athletes provides a huge saving to the athletes families.

I commend the Iowa high school associations for going forward with summer softball and baseball.

Teams have had to suspend their seasons, but I am sure the athletes, especially the seniors, appreciate the associations pushing forward with summer sports.

IMO the chances to play spring football in the upper Midwest are slim at best, high school or college.

Illinois is proposing a Feb 15 start. Not sure if that is games or practice. I gotta imagine the ground is going to be like cement in mid-Feb. I'd be more concerned about concussions than Covid.

Virginia just moved fall sports to spring. Hope to start basketball, swimming and wrestling in December, just like California.

High school recruiting doesn't matter at all this next school year.
